TRACING CHANGE

7-14 May 2026

Gallery 475, London

Tracing Change marks a pivotal period in Kimi Zoet’s practice, created during her move from Cornwall to London. Having previously drawn inspiration from Cornwall’s dramatic coastal landscapes, Zoet found herself searching for new subjects within the urban environment.

As she explored the city on foot, her attention shifted towards the overlooked details of urban nature—weeds, wild plants, and resilient pockets of growth that emerge between pavements and buildings. These fleeting encounters became the foundation for a series of large-scale works on paper, elevating often unnoticed forms into commanding presences.

The works themselves reflect a period of personal transition. Plants are depicted in states of transformation, appearing to grow beyond themselves and evolve into something new. Through these shifting forms, the exhibition explores themes of change, adaptation, and renewal.

Tracing Change was exhibited at Gallery 475 on Fulham Road, a space that has since become Zoet’s permanent studio.
